If you have published your own Facebook fan page, I highly encourage that you still continue to blog. Afterall, it is easy to embed your FB fanpage within your blog posts. All you need to know is the FB profile ID of your FB fanpage, and you can easily insert your fanpage with or without the news stream.
Just remember that, for now, you can (using this technique) embed only one FB fanpage once inside a blogpost or webpage.
