This is the first of a series of English lessons, to help future Pinoy Virtual Assistants improve their communication skills.
We recently heard someone say: “You have to be consistent on what you’re doing.”
The correct sentence is: “You have to be consistent with what you’re doing.”
Perhaps this happens because Filipinos are used to Tagalog or Taglish sentences such as:
Dapat consistent ka sa ginagawa mo.
The word “sa” is sometimes translated as “on.”
For example, “Ilagay mo ang baso SA lamesa” = “Put the glass ON the table.”
Anyway, the phrase to use is “consistent with.”
O, mga Pinoy VA, mag-English tayo! 🙂
