In 1835, Kiko Baltazar grows up in Pandacan, where he meets Maria Asuncion Rivera (aka “Selya”). Unfortunately, Kiko’s rival (Mariano Capule) uses wealth and power to send Kiko to jail.
While Francisco Baltazar languishes in jail, he writes Florante at Laura.
After being released from jail, Kiko goes to Bataan. He meets and marries Juana Tiambeng. She gives birth to 11 children.
Kiko gets jailed again, because of a complaint filed by a kasambahay. He is released in 1860.
Francisco Baltazar (Francisco Balagtas) dies at the age of 74.
