Can you really make money online with GT Trends Philippines? Global Travel Trends allows you to be your own home-based travel agent, because paying members ($19.95/month) get their own travel e-commerce site.
But does the online ordering site really give travelers discounts on airfares, cruises, and hotel accommodations? Let’s see…
If you’re a traveler, you can easily test if prices will indeed be lower.
Simply go to http://travelstore.gttrends.com/
Now try booking a flight from Cebu to Manila (one-way) anytime in the future.
You’ll find that (as of the time of this writing) the available airline is Philippine Airlines. Why isn’t Cebu Pacific Air in the GT Trends travel database?
Anyway, get the price then head on over to http://www.PhilippineAir.com and try booking the same flight. Notice anything about the airfare?
From what I’ve seen, you’ll pay less if you book via the Philippine Airlines website than if you order via the GT Trends travel store.
Travel Store Technical Questions
- Why aren’t they using a secure order page (HTTPS) when taking credit card info?
- When will they change their web design to one which inspires people to order online?
- When will they expand their database to include more airlines and more hotels?
This raises the question: Which traveler will you be able to attract?
Realistically, you’ll be able to attract people who are more interested in the compensation plan of GT Trends. You will attract people who like network marketing or MLM.
If you can network with people who are willing to invest $299 (once) and $19.95 a month (for their own identical travel e-commerce store), then you will probably succeed as a GT Trends Philippines network marketer.
DISCLOSURE: I have no direct info regarding how GTT members get paid their commissions.
How To Succeed With GT Trends Philippines
You need to build a customer-oriented travel website, or at least offer unparalleled customer service.
You helped them save time, because you gave them info that they can use (i.e., hotel review, tour packages).
If you’re already a GT Trends member, business builder, or Associate Travel Agent (ATA), go through the GTT travel database and see which hotels are offered in popular Philippine tourist destinations such as Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, and the like.
Next, publish online (in your own website) details about those available hotels:
- Contact numbers
- Photos of the hotel
- Reviews of the hotel
- Things to do in areas near the hotel
This way, even if the GTT travel database allows you to book with a limited number of hotels, your clients will still want to book through you because you provided them a service.
Remember, you were promised a 29% commission by your GTT upline for certain travel bookings made via your cookie-cutter travel store. This means you have to differentiate yourself from other GTT travel agents.
So go ahead and actually travel, and blog about your experience. Take lots of photos and publish your videos in YouTube. Brand yourself as the Philippine travel resource person, and that will help you attract tourists and travelers, even if the airfare tickets will be 30% or 40% higher.
Yes, some people will say that GT Trends Philippines is just a scam. Ultimately, it depends on you, the GTT ATA, how you handle your network marketing or travel business.
I wish you success in your ventures. Keep your eyes wide open. 🙂
