Here’s an interesting video where Nobel laureate James Watson talks about how he and Francis Crick discovered the structure of the DNA. We’re including here to help high school students with their biology science homework when they tackle the genetic code…
Didn’t know before that James Watson can be funny! π
When we were studying those chapters on DNA and even saw a photo of him many years ago, he struck me as one serious scientist. At that time, I wasn’t even curious about how he would sound.
Thanks to the internet, TED2005, and online video, students today can gain a richer appreciation of how scientists uncover breakthroughs in genetics, and how very human we all are.
It’s not just about brain power or high IQ. There are also stories about romance, envy, fear, and other emotions you’ll usually find in a novel or a short story.
It’s a 20-minute video, but if you watch it all the way to the end, you’ll hear about the connection between DNA and autism, cancer, lefthandedness, and schizophrenia.
Anyway, here’s wishing Philippine high school students more exciting times in the world of Biology and Chemistry. Have fun! π
