Have you seen the Manny Villar videos posted in Facebook? I must hand it to the team (Villar Katropa?) that’s taking care of his campaign on the internet. They know their stuff…
You’ll find the Facebook videos here:
http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1166318017738
Notice that even if you’re not logged into Facebook, you can still view the videos. And if you are logged into FB, you’ll see the famous “Share” button which allows people to easily spread the word among their FB friends.
I tell you, the internet marketing team of Manny Villar is quite savvy.
And to answer the “black propaganda” issues hurled against them, Manny Villar’s team put up AkalaMo.com
(Akala Mo is Tagalog for “you thought”)
When you visit AkalaMo.com you will see four video boxes. Those videos show Manny Villar speaking to someone off cam, and explaining or sharing his side as far as these issues are concerned:
- About recouping his campaign expenses after he gets into Office
- About the supposed partnership between Manny Villar and the First Family
- Or that Manny Villar is not really poor
- Or that Manny Villar’s sibling didn’t not really die because of poverty
The questions are posted in Tagalog, and Manny Villar answers those issues in the vernacular.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m not campaigning for Villar. But I appreciate the effort he and his team is making online.
They’re on Facebook, YouTube, and even on their own site. Their videos and content are stored in several webservers. I forgot to add Friendster, Multiply, and Twitter.
(With the remaining days until the May 2010 elections, I wonder if they will also put up an online presence over at Yahoo! Meme.)
Anyway, here’s what Manny Villar says to those who are afraid he will use the Presidency to regain whatever he has spent during the campaign:
[S3VIDEO file=’http://www.akalamo.com/videos/MBV_Kampanya.flv’ authurl=’false’ displaymode=’embedded’ buffer=’3′ height=’320′ width=’500′ bgimage=’https://www.viloria.net/images/manny-villar-akala-mo.jpg’]
So, what do you think of the video? Is he just acting? Is he sincere? I’d like to see the other candidates explain (on video) their side regarding issues involving them.
Anyway, if you want to learn more about social media marketing, watch what the team of Manny Villar is doing. And learn. And take action.
