What exactly was the point of Margaux Salcedo when she wrote that article on the Big Bad Blogger, the PR Firm, and “Georgia” the restaurateur? And why are so many people missing the point?
Here is the point of Margaux Salcedo:
The intention of the exposé was only for them—and others who are like-minded—to stop the controversial practice, not to end their means of livelihood.
Now here’s our question:
If the whole point was to point out the CONTROVERSIAL PRACTICE and have certain people stop doing this sort of thing, then…
Why even bother naming specific food bloggers in the exposé?
You have the nameless Big Bad Blogger, the anonymous PR Firm, and some person named “Georgia.” All unidentified.
And then you go out and talk highly of and clearly identify only two of a handful of high profile food bloggers.
So if protecting the identity of the Big Bad Blogger, the PR Firm, and “Georgia” will protect their livelihood, and extolling the virtues of two food bloggers protects their reputation, then it seems that the intent of the exposé was merely to courageously bring something out into the open, without harming a specific person’s reputation or livelihood.
Ganun nga po ba talaga?
Somehow, something doesn’t add up here.
Sometimes, it’s not what you say; rather, it’s what you don’t say.
