I need your help with a Math division problem. Imagine you’re a young girl in grade school, and that you haven’t been taught division with remainders.
All of the division you’ve been taught has been with whole numbers. Walang butal.
Imagine further that you’re given a long test, and that all of the problems in division in that test have been with whole numbers. For example, what is 6 divided by 3 or what is 18 divided by 2. All are evenly divisible, in other words.
And then you get this math problem…
Here’s the math division question given to a young girl:
You have 45 crazy bands. If you want to give an equal amount to your four sisters, how many crazy bands will each sister get.
Okay… how will you answer the above question?
