More people are excited about making money online with the help of membership sites, and some are a bit challenged with what might appear at first as a Membership Cube WordPress Drip page bug…
If you recall our previous post about the Membership Cube WordPress Drip plugin, you’ll note that the version is now at 1.4.8c (don’t worry… it works well. There’s no bug.)
The concept of a WordPress drip content plugin is that future blog posts will not be accessible until a member has been a member for a certain number of days. When a current blog post is displayed, the member will correctly see in the sidebar a list of upcoming posts.
When I say “correctly see” I mean the post titles are displayed, but are not clickable. They shouldn’t be; afterall, they are not yet available.
But someone has experienced creating a blog PAGE (instead of a blog POST). In his case, the sidebar now displays clickable links to all blog posts pre-published. Yes, both current and future blog posts become clickable.
The security is still in place. If the new member tries to access the future posts, no content will be displayed. But it can be frustrating to click on what appears to be a live link, only to be shown an Error 404 or Missing Page error message.
So the question is: Why don’t blog PAGES behave the way blog POSTS do, as far as the Membership Cube WordPress Drip plugin is concerned?
The answer: You probably did not protect your blog PAGE the way you protected your blog POST.
Simply use the Wishlist Member plugin, protect your blog page so that only members may access it, and you will notice that the WPDrip Upcoming Posts widget will function the way it does in the case of blog posts. 🙂
So, when are you going to build your own membership site (with dripped content)?
