Have you seen the latest commercial of Noynoy Aquino? The one where he raps and where Baby James Aquino-Yap appears briefly at the end?
You’ll find the video posted in Facebook.
I’m waiting for someone to upload the video to YouTube. Anyway…
Here’s the audio MP3 version:

The Flowplayer copyright you see above is the copyright for the flash video player (not the jingle).
Here are the lyrics…
Pinoy…. (NOYNOY!)
Pag-asa at ginhawa (NOYNOY!)
Para sa atin kanyang dala-dala (NOYNOY!)
Mahal ang kapwa di puro salita. (NOYNOY!)
Di magnanakaw
Sa kanya’y magtiwala
Hey kabataan
May liwanag ang daan
Edukasyon sa bagong henerasyon
Gabay ni President Cory
at ni Ninoy na bayani
Katiwalian ay hindi na mangyayari[Noynoy raps]
Baguhin ang buhay
Maglilingkod sa inyo
Buong mundo ipagmalaki mo
Tayo’y Pilipino!(NOYNOY!)
Sa paglaban di ka nag-iisa
(NOYNOY!)
Siguradong lahat ay sama-sama!
(NOYNOY!)
Sa paglaban di ka nag-iisa
(NOYNOY!)
Siguradong lahat ay sama-sama!NOYNOY: Mga Pinoy, Laban na ‘to!
Baby James: Noynoy!
Did you find Baby James’ participation in this commercial cute?
There’s something about the lyrics and the arrangement, though.
In the first part, the “NOYNOY!” blends with the first syllable of the next line.
For example, “(NOYNOY!) Mahal ang kapwa di puro salita” comes out sounding like “Noynoy-hal ang kapwa di puro salita” because the shouted “Noynoy” drowns out the first syllable of “Mahal.”
So what’s the big deal?
In the next line: (NOYNOY!) Di magnanakaw, the second syllable of Noynoy drowns out the “Di”, so it ends up sounding like: “(NOYNOY!)-magnanakaw”
The Tagalog phrase “di magnanakaw” translates to either “not a thief” or “will not rob” (this is the contextual translation).
“Di” is short for “hindi”, which means “No” or “Will not.”
Anyway, please listen to the jingle and let me know if it ends up sending the unintended signal to people listening to the song.
(They should lower the volume of “NOYNOY!” near the “Di magnanakaw” line, somewhere around the 0:15 second mark.)
UPDATE: Okay, found the YouTube video:
