In the coming weeks, we will take a closer look at each site as we wait for the mechanics of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2010 program. You might also wish to view the other blog posts and photos taken about the 2009 event.
What can we learn from all of this? We find that there is still room for more bloggers, and that one’s notions about what makes a successful blog can only be further expanded by the diversity of people around us.
I hope, however, that success in blogging will encourage more people to go beyond the confines of the online and sms/texting worlds, and rediscover the old childhood joys of barkadas, lazy afternoons by a river, countless basketball games, trips to the library (do we still know how to use a non-electronic card catalog?), dinner table conversations with our parents (captive audience), and some kind of timeout from the sense of “progress” the internet gives us.
Let us blog and still connect with non-bloggers, and expand our sphere of influence within and beyond the web. Who knows? We just might see this when we look at the next batch of emerging influential blogs. 🙂
