Lots of Pinoys rejoiced when Paypal allowed Filipinos (based in the Philippines) to receive payments. The question was, how do you move funds from your Paypal account to your bank account?
At first, lots of Pinoy bloggers talked about the Unionbank EON card. There are many steps to get this working, but once it does you can use your EON card to withdraw funds with the help of those ATM machines.
Then, we hear the news that you can transfer your Paypal funds directly to your Philippine bank account. And if you transfer at least P7,000 then the processing/transaction fee is waived.
Great news, right?
Unfortunately, some folks are having issues with their Unionbank account. For example, at Sasha-Says.com, you’ll read about her Paypal – Unionbank delays.
Apparently, it’s taking more than 5-7 days for the funds to get from Paypal to a Unionbank account. (Someone else shared their January 14 transfer, which has still not been reflected in their Philippine bank account.)
Looks like we still need to closely monitor this Paypal-to-Philippines fund transfer issue. A number of Pinoy netpreneurs are hoping this payment system will work.
UPDATE: Paypal money withdrawal problems — Is this getting widespread?
Have you ever wondered who are the popular Filipino or Pinoy bloggers? Wonder no more.
Janette Toral presents to you the A-listers and the B-listers at Philippines A-List Bloglebrity.
If your Pinoy blog is not listed there, please let me know so that I may visit your site. Afterall, the A-listers of today were the Z-listers of yesterday.
Someone I know spotted HappySlip in Palawan recently. He walked over to her table, pointed to her and said…
You’re HappySlip.
Some of the guys with Christine Gambito (aka HappySlip) ask him if he would like to have his picture taken with her.
I’m not a fan of HappySlip. But perhaps she wants to have her photo taken with me?
HappySlip goodnaturedly laughs, and poses beside him, while someone else in the group snaps the photo.
He later walks away from the table, then turns around and says…
Would you like my autograph?
HappySlip smiles back. Ang bait niya talaga. 🙂
How’d he recognize HappySlip in the first place? He read HappySlip: A Filipina YouTube Star back in September 2006.
He says he’s not a fan. Riiiiight. 😉
Let’s face it. If you have a web site, you want to attract lots of visitors. That’s probably why you’re reading this post right now. Well, guess what? I found ten more tips on how to improve your site’s SEO standings.
Was browsing through the site of Fr. Stephen Cuyos (www.StephenCuyos.com), and saw in his sidebar a featured video.
Check out Most: The Movie, which was nominated for Best Live-Action Short.
I was struck by the way the video below made use of just music. No words. No spoken words, that is. Watch the power of text, music, moving images, superb video editing… all these, merged with what’s deep inside you:
Mga Hunahanang Layaw (translated: Random Thoughts) caught my eye because part of the lyrics of a Visayan song my dad taught me recently is the word “huna-huna” (mind/thoughts).
And my curiosity was rewarded, because the MHL blog has an entry which features a song sung in Bisaya: Bato Balani Sa Gugma (Gozos Sa Novena Sa Sto. Niño). Interestingly, you’ll find that some people upload MP3 files in a password-protected folder in Drop.io, a “simple private exchange.”
What makes Drop.io interesting is that you can allow people to collaborate or even add notes to the files you upload, or if you will allow them to simply view the file. The service says they will store your file for up to one year, although you can always go back and re-upload.
Why is it free? I don’t know… Perhaps the whole concept of a “private exchange” or “secrets” catches the fancy of certain people, enough for them to offer this free service.
